Perikles Maillis: "Bahamians of Greek Descent: Our Story"

Bahamas Historical Society – Shirley Street / Elizabeth Avenue

Congratulations – At its last meeting, the society’s management committee voted to bestow Associate Membership upon Dr Gail Saunders in recognition of her contributions to Bahamian historiography. I would like to take this opportunity to publicly congratulate Dr Saunders for her many achievements.

New Equipment – The society was able to purchase a multi-media projector, which will enable our speakers to show PowerPoint presentations to accompany their lectures. The society would like to thank the Ministry of Finance for granting us customs duty exemption on the projector, as well as Mr Colin de Gregory of Post Boxes Etc. for arranging that the projector was shipped from Florida to Nassau free of charge!

Spring Luncheon & Fashion Show – Sadly, I am in no position to tell tales from this year’s spring luncheon, as I was tied up at work and was unable to attend. However, I have been told that a good time was had by all who did manage to attend, and I have received a few photographs of the event that I would like to share with you. Thank you to all who helped make this a successful fundraiser!
